Whitestone REIT Commences New 22,000-SF Lease With Burke’s Outlet Store at Windsor Park Centre

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Whitestone REIT (NYSE: WSR), a fully integrated real estate company that owns, re-develops, leases, manages, and operates Community Centered PropertiesTM, announced that the Company and Burke’s Outlet Stores, LLC have commenced a new lease for a location at Whitestone’s Windsor Park Centre propertyin Windcrest, Texas, a suburb of San Antonio. Whitestone has turned the space over to Burke's, who will complete their build out of the store, with a February, 2014 planned grand opening.

James C. Mastandrea, Whitestone’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said, “We are pleased to welcome Burke’s to our Windsor Park property, and offer expanded shopping options to residents of the surrounding community. The addition of Burke’s will complement the existing tenant mix and bring the overall occupancy of this center to over 95%, enhancing the vibrancy of this established center.” Mastandrea added, "Our corporate-wide leasing efforts have picked up significant pace in the fourth quarter and we expect them to remain robust during 2014 as we continue to redevelop, re-tenant and increase rents in our properties.”
